Holiday Hitters Portland - Quick Hits

Dylan Grenz
Associate Scout

On Monday, December 2nd, Prep Baseball Oregon hosted the Holiday Hitters Portland event at D-Bat Hitting Facility in Tigard, Oregon. The first of its kind hitting-only event featured prospects in the 2025-2028 graduating classes.

Prep Baseball events serve as an identifier of top baseball talent in the area. Athletes in attendance can obtain video from the event to send to college recruiters, and have statisitcal data recorded by Prep Baseball's state of the art technology partners. Top performances can also lend invites to some of 2025's top events, such as Preseason All-State, PNW State Games, and more. Finally, Prep Baseball events help scouts form watch lists and rankings lists, such as Prep Baseball's recent release of the 2026 Oregon State Player Rankings.

Today, we release our Quick Hits, highlighting standout players from the event. Players are listed alphabetically by last name. Stay tuned in the coming days for more post-event content.

Had a 343 foot shot as his furthest hit ball of the day. Senior to watch.

'28 1B/RHP Gabriel Gonzales (Battle Ground)
Impressive size for a freshman in 6'3 frame. Starts with lower hands forward toward center of frame. Works a toe-tap load into a flat barrel path. Some bat speed present, peaked with a 77.2 MPH bat speed. Line drive approach with potential to do real damage by creating more leverage. 90.1 MPH max exit velocity with a 306 foot furthest hit ball.

'27 1B/LHP Koen Hall (Sunset)
Starts in square setup with balanced base. Hands remain tight throughout, with an uphill bat path and two-handed finish. Ability to hit ball where pitched, worked the opposite field in early rounds and let it loose to the pull side in later rounds. 93.2 MPH max exit velocity with a 334 foot max distance were near the top of the event. Quiet confidence in game.

'26 C/OF Jack Kiesel (Nelson)
Lean, athletic frame. Narrow base with lower hands in stance. Creates separation well in load and swing operation. On time and on the barrel throughout. Impressive 94.6 MPH max and 87.1 MPH average exit velocity. Second at the event in hard hit percentage. Junior to watch.

'27 1B/LHP Kye Leenders (Tualatin)
Lefthander with some twitch present. Standard setup at stance, with a short stride and quick trigger to swing. Abbreviated two-handed finish. Clear athleticism present, was on the barrel throughout BP rounds. 95.4 MPH max and 87.2 MPH average exit velocities with the best line drive percentage at the event.

'28 OF/1B Noah Martin (Clackamas)
Lean framed lefty bat showed upside for underclassman status. Starts in slightly open setup with hands back. Slow, controlled load coils hands further before swing triggers. Some shoulder tilt present with ability to hit to all fields. Line drive approach. Plenty to like in swing operation.
