This week, Prep Baseball Oregon unveiled our latest 2027 Player Rankings Update. The rankings list is the final update of the year for the junior class and is a culmination of looks obtained by Prep Baseball scouts throughout 2024.

The 2027 Rankings Update is the second of a four week stretch in rankings updates for the high school classes. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more rankings content, including the first unveiling of the class of 2028 player rankings.

Despite minimal movement in the top ten, many players made significant jumps in the rankings after breakout performances in the late summer/early fall time frame. Below, we spotlight three players who had some of the bigger jumps up the latest rankings list.

Top Risers

Koen Hall 1B / LHP / Sunset, OR / 2027

The lefty showed plenty to be excited about at the Holiday Hitters event recently. Starts in a balanced setup with a horizontal barrel. Slight hip hinge into a load, with a quick, powerful bat through the zone. Some classic lefty loft present with a strong two-handed finish. Upside in 6'1, 180 pound frame. One of the biggest risers in this rankings update.

Cole Weber SS / RHP / Wilsonville, OR / 2027

Plenty of room to add strength in 6'1, 170 pound lean frame. Ran a solid 7.12 second 60-yard dash time with ability to move laterally in the infield. Soft hands at fielding point with a lower-slot release to throw. 78 MPH throws across the diamond. Features a flatter righthanded swing with a 91 MPH maximum exit velocity.

Chase Kelly LHP / OF / Jesuit, OR / 2027

The Jesuit arm got multiple looks this summer, first at the Portland Summer ID and later at the PNW State Games. Thin frame sinks into legs slightly to push down the mound. Flashed three-pitch mix with a FB up to 80 MPH and a CH/CB offspeed combination. Repeatable lefty swing as well was on the barrel consistently.
