Oregon Uncommitted Spotlight - '25 C Carter Stewart
December 16, 2024
As the 2024 baseball season comes to a close, Prep Baseball Oregon continues our new offseason series of Uncommitted Spotlights, highlighting standout performers that attended a Prep Baseball showcase event this year. Uncommitted spotlights are meant to showcase players that Prep Baseball Scouts felt showed standout tools, large improvements in overall game, or potential upside moving forward. College coaches and recruiters should be sure to keep an eye on these prospects in the coming months.
Today, we spotlight 2025 catcher Carter Stewart. The senior backstop was most recently seen at the Pacific Northwest Preseason All-State last winter. A 6'0, 190 pound athlete, Stewart offers versatility from behind the plate.
Stewart features a strong left-handed swing that can produce loud contact consistently. His 96.7 MPH max and 92 MPH average exit velocity were among the best of the event last winter. The Jesuit High School product also flashed sub-2 second pop times. Below is a complete breakdown of the player, including video from the event.

Scouting Report
Left handed hitting catcher with a large frame and athletic build. Repeatable and compact stroke from the left side that produces line drive contact. Has some natural loft to his path and has a chance to grow into some power with consistent results. There's some polish to his receiving and actions behind the dish. Good release and footwork throwing to bags with some consistent carry on sub 2 pop times. Stewart put on a good showing with lots of 90+ exit velocities and has a chance to be a mover this spring if he can carry over the performance to his spring season. Definitely a guy to keep tabs on with the left handed bat profile at a premium position. - Alex Ross
