As the 2024 baseball season comes to a close, Prep Baseball Oregon continues our new offseason series of Uncommitted Spotlights, highlighting standout performers that attended a Prep Baseball showcase event this year. Uncommitted spotlights are meant to showcase players that Prep Baseball Scouts felt showed standout tools, large improvements in overall game, or potential upside moving forward. College coaches and recruiters should be sure to keep an eye on these prospects in the coming months.

Today, we spotlight 2026 RHP Jinki Tomita. The 17th ranked junior in the state was last seen at the Pacific Northwest Preseason ID, where he had a great bullpen showing. Tomita will be in attendance at the Pacific Northwest Preseason All-State event in Centralia this February.

The righty arm features a long, fluid hand break and arm action into a high-slot release, giving added life to his four-seamer. Tomita ran the fastball up to 86 MPH and consistently sat 84-85 MPH with the pitch. He partnered this with a changeup/splitter and curveball, both in the upper 60's. Below is a complete breakdown of the athlete, including a scouting report and video from the event.
