State Games Spotlight - '25 OF/C Brady McCarthy
January 2, 2025
As we continue through the offseason, Prep Baseball Oregon is reflecting upon our showcase circuit and highlighting standout performers from 2024. Today, we continue our State Games Spotlight series, specifically looking at players that participated in this year's Pacific Northwest State Games. These spotlights are meant to showcase players that Prep Baseball Scouts felt showed standout tools, large improvements in overall game, or potential upside moving forward at the summer's biggest event. College coaches and recruiters should be sure to keep an eye on these prospects in the coming months.
This week we spotlight 2025 outfielder/catcher Brady McCarthy. The senior out of Grant High School attended PNW State Games in addition to several other Prep Baseball events over the past several years. A 5'10 athlete with some quickness, McCarthy had a sound showing this summer in Vancouver.
McCarthy is a plus athlete, running a 6.81 60-yard dash time at an earlier Prep Baseball event. The righty bat features a high leg kick and strong two-hand finish, with peak exit velocities in the low 90's. The prospect also showcased defensive versatility, with quickness both behind the plate and in the outfield. Below is a complete breakdown of the player, including video and scouting reports from the event.
