Scouting Report

2016 PBR Future Games - Team Pennsylvania

9/10/16 6-foot, 170-pound right-hander has had a breakout summer and built on his solid performance at the PBR Future Games on this day. His velocity was down a few ticks from his 84-86 topping at 87 mph in August, but his command of four pitches was still evident. Schoeneweis allowed one run in three innings of work with three strikeouts. He used a fastball, curveball, slider changeup mix effectively and got six ground ball outs as a result. The junior showed his athleticism running a 7.02 60-yard dash while also flashing 88 mph arm strength from the outfield.

8/4/16 6-foot, 175-pound righty sat 83-85 while touching 87 mph from a high 3/4 arm slot. Worked three scoreless innings over two games. Fastball shows late life with arm side fade. Tight slider at 73-75 is a quality secondary offering out of the same arm slot. Also flashed a slow curveball with 11/5 rotation at 62 mph. Solid frame with balanced, repeatable delivery.

6/15/16 6-foot-1, 175-pound primary pitcher stood out with a well rounded skill set. Sat 84-86 on the mound from a high 3/4 arm slot with late life to his fastball. Also displayed a feel for a 77 mph slider and a 68 mph changeup during three scoreless innings of work. Allowed two hits, struck out three and retired five batters via ground balls.

Right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Registered an 86 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.12 60-yard dash. Displayed athletic actions defensively with accurate 89 mph arm strength from the outfield.
