Andrew Kowalo joins Prep Baseball Report (NY/PA) after two coaching stops at Potomac State College of WVU and VMI. In the fall of 2018 after Kowalo finished his playing career, he began coaching by joining the staff at his alma mater- Potomac State College. He then moved on to Virginia Military Institute as the volunteer assistant in 2019, before returning to Potomac State in the fall of 2019 under a more full time roll.

He has been an Assistant Director of Scouting for PBR WV under Josh Kuykendall for the past two years as well as being the Head Baseball Coach of the Appalachian Aces 16U in the summer of 2020. "Andrew is an exceptional talent and a rising star in the baseball community. There's no doubt that PBR WV is in a better place because of his relentless commitment to help grow the brand" said Josh Kuykendall, PBR WV Director.

Kowalo’s passion for the game of baseball has driven him throughout his entire career and will bring an advanced level of knowledge and experience to the PBR team. As Director of Baseball, Kowalo's responsibilities will be vast as the brand continues to expand and grow within each state. "I had the privilege of getting to know Andrew last summer at the Pennsylvania State Games where he left a lasting impression on me. Throughout the hiring process, with dozens of qualified applicants,  Andrew's name kept coming to the front of the list. I couldn't be more happy for him and for all the amateur players in Pennsylvania and New York" - Dan Cevette - President (NY/PA).

Kowalo played high school baseball and graduated from Wheeling Park High School where he was Ohio Valley All-Conference 1st Team twice and All-State at shortstop his senior year.

His college career began in junior college at Potomac State College of WVU (’14-’15)  where he was a two time all Region XX infielder. He finished his playing career at Liberty University (’16-’17) where he was a two year starter in the infield.

Kowalo prides himself on consistency, dedication and a blue collar work ethic that will prove to be beneficial for the baseball players in Pennsylvania and New York.  We are thrilled for Kowalo to join our PBR family.
