Breaking News: Matijevic and Sabino Make their Commitments

As the saying goes at this time of the year; "Tis the Season". In the span of 24 hours, the No. 3 and the No. 1 ranked players in the Pennsylvania Class of 2014 rankings made their commitments. Prep Baseball Report plans to run a full story on both players' commitments in the coming days.

JNORJ.J. Matijevic, 1B/3B, Norwin High School
Matijevic will be leaving the Pittsburgh suburbs and heading to the PAC 12. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound power hitting lefty has committed to play his college baseball for the University of Arizona. The Wildcats will be getting the raining Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) AAA Player of the Year. Matijevic's high school team, the Norwin Knights had five Division I recruits on last year's roster. Batting third in that stellar lineup, Matijevic put together a remarkable spring in which he batted .473 with 35 RBI, seven doubles and six home runs. Prior to his summer schedule changing, Matijevic planned to participate for Team Pennsylvania at the Prep Baseball Report Midwest Future Games.

Matijevic is the No. 1 ranked player in Pennsylvania's Class of 2014 rankings and the No. 15 ranked player in the PBR combined rankings.

SabinoLiam Sabino, SS, Blair Academy
Liam Sabino is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound shortstop who has a striking resemblance to Derek Jeter. Sabino runs a 6.9 60-yard dash and has a strong arm (87mph across the infield). His glove work and range at shortstop are exceptional. Like Matijevic, Sabino will also be leaving Pennsylvania to play his college baseball in the SEC. The Blair Academy prospect has committed to Vanderbilt.
