Clash of the Titans Scout Day: Complete Results

The Clash of the Titans American Legion Tournament brought together 10 teams from Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey for five days of game play last week. 12 position players gathered on Championship Sunday to showcase their abilities prior to a 2:00 title game at Ephrata's War Memorial Field. Following are evaluations of half of those players as well as statistical results for all in attendance.

Richard (Ricky) Bromirski

Ricky Bromirski, 2019, C, Ephrata HS (PA)
6-foot, 185-pounder has put on 20 pounds of muscle since we last saw him a year ago. The right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Displays some barrel drag but stays behind the baseball well and squared the baseball regularly in his round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 90 mph. Also has the ability to play outfield and ran an event best 6.64 60-yard dash. Showcased pop times of 2.06-2.14 on throws of 72 mph from the crouch and presented a soft wall when blocking.

Matt CiarrocchiMatt Ciarrocchi, 2019, 1B, Quakertown HS (PA)
6-foot-3, 215-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Displayed the ability to regularly create some lift with a high finish while consistently barreling the baseball in his round of BP. Registered an 86 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.75 60-yard dash. Showcased capable actions around the bag at first base with accurate 77 mph arm strength across the diamond.

Austin ClauserAustin Clauser, 2019, C, Schuylkill Haven HS (PA)
6-foot-2, 180-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and incorporates a leg-hang stride to initiate his swing. Showcased the ability to repeatedly drive the right-center field gap with a bat exit velocity of 84 mph. Ran a 7.09 60-yard dash and showcased pop times of 2.04-2.13 during defensive evaluations. Athletic backstop with the ability to also play outfield. Has drawn considerable interest early this summer and will likely make a college decision in the near future.

Marc PorporaMarc Porpora, 2019, SS, Hopewell Valley Central HS (NJ)
5-foot-10, 155-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Showcased a direct swing path with a line drive approach during a solid round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 80 mph. Ran a 7.42 60-yard dash and displayed accurate 70 mph arm strength across the diamond. Plays low to the ground and showed a quick release. Current skill set is best suited for second base at the next level.

Jordan SiketJordan Siket, 2019, C, Owen J. Roberts HS (PA)
6-foot-3, 205-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilized a heel-raise stride to initiate his swing. Displayed strength in his lower half with a direct swing path during a solid round of batting practice. Registered an 88 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.70 60-yard dash. Showcased pop times of 2.03-2.13 on throws of 74 mph from the crouch defensively. Physical prospect with above average all-around skill set. High follow this summer among uncommitted prospects in the Class of 2019.

Benjamin SpencerBen Spencer, 2019, SS/3B, Garden Spot HS (PA)
6-foot, 160-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a toe-tap stride to begin his swing. Initiates swing from a high-hands load and displayed a line drive approach during his round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 84 mph. Showcased the ability to play through the baseball with a quick release and accurate 81 mph arm strength across the diamond. 7.20 runner showed the athleticism to play multiple infield positions and could easily make the transition to the outfield at the next level as well.
