The 2021 National Rankings have been updated, 12 PA players are in the top 500 in the country, including 5 in the top 200. With the updated PA State rankings to be released in the coming weeks lets take a look at where theses 10 players landed in the National Ranks.

National Rank

30.

Michael Morales RHP / East Pennsboro, PA / 2021

Vanderbilt recruit, Morales has a long, lean pitcher’s frame at 6-foot-2, 185-pounds, He was able to repeat his high ¾ slot with ease, and the delivery showed some polish. His fastball worked effortlessly at 84-86 with a clean arm stroke and some quickness out front.  His 11/5 breaking ball (69-71), showing more depth, and with the depth and spin that it showed, could develop even more in coming years.

31.

Benny Montgomery OF / RHP / Red Land, PA / 2021

Montgomery is long, ultra-athletic, and has big-time tools that, with a bit of seasoning, can sky-rocket his status as a prospect. The 6-foot-4, 185-pounder is twitchy in all aspects of the game, starting at the plate where as a right-handed hitter he loads deeper into an almost “hitchy arm bar” that looks a bit awkward until his quick hands rip the barrel through the zone, giving reason to ignore the load. His impressive bat speed produces louder contact, showcasing some raw power to the pull side including multiple home runs in BP. His long strides allow him to cover significant ground in centerfield, and his speed will allow him to stick there in the long run. That same speed makes him a constant threat on the basepaths with some of the longer strides you will see, and he showcased a quick first step stealing bases, getting to full speed in an instant with considerably less steps needed to swipe the bags.

90.

Cole Wagner LHP / 1B / Red Land, PA / 2021

6-foot, 190-pound Georgia commit. Commanded four pitches with easy, balanced delivery from a high 3/4 arm slot. Sat 84-85 while topping at 87 mph in 1.1 innings of work. Showed advanced feel for an excellent changeup at 77-79 that was consistently commanded down in the zone. Also flashed a curveball with average depth at 70-71 and a slider with later, shorter break at 78-80.

164.

Caleb Gampe RHP / SS / Hollidaysburg, PA / 2021

The South Carolina commit is known for his abilities on the mound but he showed off his abilities as a position player on this day. Above average athlete that looked anything but out of place at shortstop. At the plate the right-hander uses a leg kick/bat tip combination that creates a ton of energy into contact. Barrelled the baseball up all day hitting out of three hole.

168.

Lonnie White Jr. OF / 3B / Malvern Prep, PA / 2021

6-foot-3, 200-pound freshman looks the part of a college freshman physically. Showed athletic actions in everything he did on the day. Three sport varsity starter as a frosh. Got down the line in 4.40 on a one hop barreled ground out to shortstop. Barreled a line drive to center field for an out and hit a long home run to right-center field. Will have opportunities to play all three sports at the next level.

273.

Luke Holman RHP / SS / Wilson West Lawn, PA / 2021

Alabama commit. 6-foot-4, 185-pound right-hander has an athletic, well proportioned frame with room to continue adding strength. Fastball sat 87-89 from a high 3/4 arm slot with a fluid, loose arm action. Fastball has current late riding life and should continue to develop with additional physical maturity. Curveball is a plus pitch with 12/6 rotation and an extremely high spin rate thrown at fastball arm speed sitting 71-73. Showed feel for his changeup at 72-74 with some sinking action and a splitter with tumbling action at 71-75.

289.

Jonathan Bautista RHP / SS / Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, PA / 2021

6-foot-2, 200-pound right-hander with a mature, athletic frame with proportional strength. Sat 89-92 from a 3/4 arm slot with a clean, repeatable delivery. Two-seam fastball shows heavy arm-side run and sink at 89-90 while four-seam fastball has late life in the zone. Curveball is in development, but at its best shows solid depth at 74-76 with 11/5 rotation. The breaking ball has better shape out of the stretch when he stays closed longer. Changeup at 82-83 is thrown with solid arm speed and consistent sink. High end prospect on the mound with the potential to be an early round draft pick if secondary offerings become more refined.

295.

Braedon Karpathios LHP / 1B / Lampeter-Strasburg, PA / 2021

Two-way prospect is a Coastal Carolina commit. Currently ranked No. 32 in his class, Karpathios will be making a significant move up the rankings in the near future following a stellar high school season and a strong start to his summer. The lefty showed balance and rhythm to his delivery with above average feel for three quality pitches. He sat 83-85 out of a 3/4 arm slot with some sink to his fastball. His changeup is thrown with good sell and showed similar fade at 75-76. The pitch that sets him apart is a wipeout curveball at 70-73. The pitch has 1/7 rotation and significant depth.

311.

Trey Yesavage RHP / Boyertown, PA / 2021

Pittsburgh commit. 6-foot-4, 240-pound right-handed pitcher sat 89-90 with heavy downward plane one week after showing well at the 2020 Comitted Player ProCase. Curveball at 68-72 has a chance to be a solid pitch with better arm speed. Changeup was thrown with good sell and command down in the zone at 76-79. Slider at 78-80 is an above average pitch at 78-80 with tight, late break. Physical righty will be an innings eater at the next level.

313.

Joe Jaconski SS / OF / Plymouth Whitemarsh, PA / 2021

North Carolina commit. 6-foot-1, 175-pound left-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and uses a short, leg-lift stride to initiate his swing. Gets on plane early and hands work extremely well through contact. Showed the ability to drive the baseball gap-to-gap with consistent back spin. Registered a bat exit velocity of 89 mph and ran a 7.14 60-yard dash. Showcased easy, fluid defensive actions with effortless 84 mph arm strength across the diamond. Makes plays on the move while consistently setting himself up for good hops.

318.

Bobby Marsh 1B / OF / Bellefonte Area, PA / 2021

418.

J.J. Wetherholt SS / RHP / Mars Area, PA / 2021

Weatherholdt is a 5-foot-8, 170-pound SS/RHP from Mars Area HS
