Scouting Report

1/28/17 5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a heel raise stride. Stays inside the baseball well and flashed advanced bat speed for a player his size (89 mph). Barrelled the baseball routinely during a very solid round of batting practice and displayed the ability to drive the baseball to both gaps. Ran a 7.19 60-yard dash and flashed 81 mph arm strength across the diamond from his shortstop position. Showcased active feet, the ability to play through the baseball and makes the slow roller play look routine.

10/26/16 While his "prospect status" may be limited by his 5-foot-9, 155-pound build, Bingaman is the middle infielder from this event who many would first take to help win a game right now. The right-handed hitter, who ran a 7.02 60-yard dash, exhibited good balance and hit against his front side during his round of BP. From a slightly open stance he stays inside the baseball and flashes bat speed that helped generate a 90 mph exit velocity. He bounces around defensively, playing low to the ground and below the baseball, and features accurate 81 mph arm strength.

9/25/16 5-foot-9, 155-pound right-handed hitter continues to show steady strides in his overall game. Junior starts from a from a wide, square stance and initiates his swing from a high hands load with a heel-raise stride. Displayed a solid feel for the barrel during batting practice with an 85 mph bat exit velocity and went 2-for-4 at the plate during game action. Showcased solid feet (7.15 60-yard dash) and soft glove hand with above average arm strength (82 mph). Displayed athletic actions in making the slow roller play look routine and made a highlight reel catch in game action going high in the air at second base to take away a base hit.

7/20/16 5-foot-9, 155-pound right-handed hitter starts from a wide square stance with a high-hands load and initiates his swing with a heel raise stride. Displayed a line-drive approach with a feel for the barrel during batting practice. Showcased solid feel for the baseball in game action going 3-for-5 with a triple and a walk over two games with a bat exit velocity of 88 mph. Flashed fluid actions defensively with solid feet and the ability to make the slow-roller play look easy. Showed accurate 81 mph arm strength with the ability to make throws from multiple arm angles.

11/1/15 5-foot-7, 140-pound sophomore has put on 10 pounds in past four months. Right-handed hitter starts from a wide, square stance and utilizes a heel raise to initiate his swing. Displayed the ability to stay inside the baseball and routinely barreled the baseball to all fields with a greatly improved bat exit velocity (81 mph). Bingaman ran a 7.58 60-yard dash and showed athletic movements with a quick release defensively. Continued work to play through the baseball will allow Bingaman to see continued improvements in arm strength (74 mph).

6/24/15 5-foot-6, 130-pound right-handed hitter. All-around game will benefit from strength gains with maturation. Hit from square stance with heel-raise stride in which heel retreats when it lands. Swing has some length, while it is fairly balanced and hands work pretty well. Ran a 7.88 60-yard dash and in-game best 4.93 home-to-1B time. Showcased 65-mph exit velocity and 70-mph arm strength during workout. Exhibited good hands, solid feet, and ability to get rid of the ball quickly.
