Greg Williams
Pennsylvania Director of Scouting

The Eastern PA Top Prospect Games annually showcases roughly 70 top uncommitted prospects across the state and from a few surrounding states. 2019 marks the 8th year for this event with hundreds of former participants having gone on to college commitments and to professional baseball.

As we draw closer to June we will be periodically highlighting some of the prospects scheduled to participate. Today we begin our preview with a look at 2020 RHP Daniel Errigo. The righty is currently 4-0 this spring with a 2.23 ERA. Errigo has worked 22 innings allowing 17 hits with 22 strikeouts.

Scouting Report

2.9.19 - 6-foot-4, 195-pound right-handed pitcher utilizes a stack across his body which leads to advanced hip/shoulder separation. Errigo's 3/4 release featured fastballs that sat 82-84 mph with late life. Showcased 64-69 mph curveballs that at times showed two-plane movement. 68-70 mph changeups displayed small arm-side run. His already above-average repertoire can improve with better sell on his off-speed pitches.

1.26.19 - 6-foot-4, 195-pound righty sat 81-84 from a 3/4 arm slot with a high knee stack and some hip coil to his delivery. Curveball showed 10/4 rotation at 65-69 with sweeping action. Changeup is thrown with good sell at 67-68. Errigo's fastball was up a couple of ticks since last seen in October. Additional velocity is likely moving forward as he continues to fill out his projectable frame.

12.29.18 - 6-foot-4, 195-pounder showcased a fastball that has late life and arm-side run at 78-82 out of a 3/4 arm slot. Stays more directional to the plate out of the stretch with signs that quick velocity gains are likely if similar mechanics can be adapted to the wind up. Changeup at 67-68 is thrown with good arm speed and provides a solid complimentary pitch off of the fastball. Slider at 66-68 showed curveball shape and is a pitch still in development. Errigo will be an interesting follow over the next year with the potential to make significant jumps in velocity.
