Elite Prospect Showcase Spotlight: RHP/3B Aidan Frye

By Jacob Gill

There are just over two months until PBR Pennsylvania's Elite Prospect Showcase on November 7th at Keystone State Baseball Academy in Manheim. Today is the first in a series of previews on prospects who will be in attendance. First up is Springside Chestnut Hill 2018 RHP/3B Aidan Frye.

While we have not had a chance to see Frye at his secondary position yet, the 6-foot, 175-pounder impressed in multiple viewings on the varsity mound as a freshman. He showed himself to be a strike-thrower who can minimize his pitch count with a fastball at 78-81, along with the willingness to challenge hitters and pitch inside. He also featured a mid-60s curveball that he was able to throw for a strike just about at will.

Frye went 5-2 with a 1.20 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 50.2 innings of work as a freshman in 2015. The righty yielded just 18 hits. We are looking forward to seeing Frye's progress six months after our last glimpse of him. For a complete event roster as of today, click here.
