Fall College Prospect Program: Results from Slippery Rock University

By Greg Williams
PA Director of Scouting

Weekend 4 of the Fall College Prospect Program wrapped up with a stop at Slippery Rock University. Several uncommitted seniors impressed with their bats during batting practice and in game action. A brief look at some of the top hitting performances follows.

C/RHP Ryan Curtis, Westerville North HS (OH)

Curtis showcased good extension to his swing and a simple approach to hitting. He went 2-for-3 at the plate in game action.

1B/OF Eric Fairman, Thomas Jefferson HS

Fairman, who hit a home run in Week 1 action at Seton Hill University, went 2-for-3 with a double at Slippery Rock. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound right-handed hitter has shown legitimate power at three fall stops.

C/1B Jake Kleindl, Shady Side Academy

Kleindl was impressive in batting practice. He barreled the baseball routinely and the ball jumped off his bat. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound right-handed hitter went 1-for-2 in game action.

C Mason Prickett, Moon Area HS

Prickett turned in a 90 mph bat exit velocity and barreled the baseball repeatedly to the pull side during BP. He went on to go 1-for-3 with a double in game action.

OF Jesse Staudt, Cochranton HS

Staudt showed the ability to barrel the baseball routinely in BP, with good lower half action and quick hands. He went 2-for-3 in game action.
