Freshmen Contributing On Varsity

Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

Experience is important to the success of varsity teams in the spring, but sometimes they can find weapons in their young players. These freshmen are all off to impressive starts to their high school careers.

Dylan Lesko, RHP, Buford HS, GA
The first thing that comes to mind when talking about the immensely talented Lesko is polish. The freshman has three present pitches that grade out very well for his age, including a changeup the state hasn’t seen since Travis Devine toed the rubber at Dacula HS in the late 90s. Lesko pitches with conviction and confidence in big spots. In 27.1 innings this spring, he has allowed 11 runs (10 earned) on 21 hits and three walks while striking out 46.
