Perkiomen Valley 2, Spring-Ford 0

The Vikings advanced to Thursday's conference championship game behind a combined three-hitter from 2018 right-handed pitcher Brock Helverson (5.1 IP, 3 H, BB, 3 K) and 2019 right-handed pitcher Tyler Strechay (1.2 IP, 3 K) in a brisk game that lasted less than one hour and 45 minutes. Perk Valley scratched across single runs in the second and third innings against 2017 Penn State commit Conor Larkin (6 IP, 3 H, 3 BB, 2 K) for the only scoring of the game. 2017 catcher Matt Szczesny was involved in both runs, as his leadoff double set up PV's first tally, while he squeezed home the other run the next frame. Helverson and Strechay retired nine of the Rams final ten hitters with the only base runner during that stretch erased on a 4-6-3 double play to end the sixth inning.

Boyertown Area 2, Owen J. Roberts 1

Bears 2016 right-handed pitcher Andrew Bauer (6 IP, 4 H, 2 BB, K) and Wildcats DeSales-bound left-handed pitcher Corey Hennessey (6 IP, 4 H, 2 BB, 3 K) matched each other pitch-for-pitch before an unearned run in the bottom of the sixth inning provided the winning score. Boyertown opened the scoring in the bottom of the second inning when a pop up fell between three OJR defenders in shallow right-center. OJR mounted a two-out rally in the next half inning as junior outfielder Andrew Fisher slapped a single to left and Elizabethtown-bound shortstop Riley McGinley smoked a two-out double to knot the score. An error to lead off the bottom of the sixth, a sac bunt, and a two-out RBI single from junior third baseman Tyler Kreitz put the Bears three outs away from the win. 2017 right-handed pitcher Pat Hohleld came on to induce three groundouts and record the save.

Perkiomen Valley and Boyertown will meet tomorrow night at 7:00pm at Boyertown's Bear Stadium in the league championship game.
