Timely hitting by Ephrata and a lack of control by Hempfield pitchers led to a blowout win for Ephrata in Tuesday's first L-L League semifinal game. Hempfield used four pitchers who combined to walk nine batters and hit another three.

Offensively Ephrata was led by George Washington commit Nate Fassnacht (right, 3-3, HR, 5 RBI, 2 BB, SB), Justin Carvell (2-3, 2 RBI, BB) and Brandon Schwark (2-4, RBI).

Gavilan Fogarty-Harnish held the Hempfield bats quiet as he threw a complete game while scattering five hits. He was able to keep the Black Knight hitters off balance all game with a solid three pitch mix. The righty didn't overpower anyone, registering just one strikeout, but was effective nonetheless. The only player with multiple hits for Hempfield was Tim Gailor (2-2, BB)

Ephrata advances to Thursday's Championship Game to take on Penn Manor who won the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

Penn Manor once again got a dominant pitching performance coming off of Jeff Taylor's one hitter on Saturday, Jacob Herr (right) didn't allow a hit until the 4th inning and only allowed three all game in a five inning complete game shutout.

Penn Manor got all the offense they would need in the 1st inning as they scored six runs on five hits. They would tack on two more in the 3rd, and 4th and three in the 5th to get the mercy rule win.

Collin Whiteside (3-4, 2B, RBI), Anthony Knight (3-4), Nate McFarland (2-2, 2 RBI), Grant Gale (2-4, 3B, 2 RBI) and Taylor (3-4, 3 RBI) did the bulk of the damage for the Comets.

Penn Manor advances to play Ephrata in Thurday's L-L League Championship Game.
