Adam Hull, Dean Stramara and Sean Greenawalt, the first three hitters in Blue Mountain's lineup, combined to go 7-for-10 to lead the Eagles to a 5-1 win over Schuylkill Haven last night. The trio also accounted for three of the Eagles' five runs driven in with the final pair of RBI belonging to Austin Krammes on a 7th inning single that extended the lead to 5-0.

Five runs were more than enough for Stramara (right), a Towson recruit. The senior righty scattered five hits on the night, three of which came in the 7th inning leading to the lone run for the Hurricanes. Stramara did not walk a batter and struck out nine in a complete game effort totaling 87 pitches.

Schuylkill Haven starter Nick Behm gave his team a chance to win. The Marist recruit went the distance striking out seven while allowing just one walk and four hits to the four through nine hitters in the Blue Mountain lineup.

Blue Mountain advances to the Schuylkill League title game where they will meet Pottsville for the championship.

A 2-2 game after four turned on a wind blown single in the 5th inning off the bat of Aiden Liptok that scored a pair of runs allowing Pottsville some breathing room. A solid start from junior righty J.J. Spehrley (3.1 IP, 1 ER, 5 K, 2 BB) allowed the Tide to utilize Penn State bound Eli Nabholz for just 1.2 innings. Nabholz registered three strikeouts among the five outs that he recorded and allowed one walk in earning the win. Travis Blankenhorn, a Kentucky recruit, came on to face the minimum in the final two innings for the save.

Blankenhorn added the final two runs for the Tide in the 6th inning with one swing of the bat. The potential draft pick in this June's MLB amateur draft belted a long two-run home run to right field pushing the lead to a comfortable four runs. Sophomore designated hitter Gavin Hinchliffe led the Pottsville offense with a 2-for-3 night at the plate with a walk and two runs scored.

A host of MLB scouts were in attendance to get a look at Blankenhorn and stuck around following the game to watch the 6-foot-1, 195-pound infielder take a round of batting practice with wood after the teams shook hands. Blankenhorn proceeded to hit half a dozen balls out of the park in roughly 20 swings, including a tape measure shot that landed on top of a school building some 400 feet from home plate beyond the right-center field fence.
