Greg Williams
Pennsylvania Director of Scouting

Regularly scheduled as the second league meeting of the season for these Mid-Penn Commonwealth rivals, Friday became a doubleheader due to continual poor weather this spring. The two got together for a pair of games with first pitch being thrown at 2:15.

Game One Highlights:  Cumberland Valley 8,  Mifflin County 0

Ryan RudrowCumberland Valley got a complete game shutout from uncommitted 2018 RHP Ryan Rudrow to win going away. With the win Rudrow moved to 3-0 on the season and has yet to allow a run in 20 innings of work. The 6-foot-2, 150-pound righty allowed just three hits and one walk while striking out eight. Rudrow has shown excellent command in all three starts walking just four while striking out 21 on the season.

Penn State commit Justin Williams continued his torrid hitting going 2-for-3 with a home run, a run scored, a walk and two RBI. 2019 second baseman David Mangold went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI and 2019 third baseman Connor Madison also homered in the Eagles' 11-hit attack.

Game Two Highlights:  Cumberland Valley 8,  Mifflin County 1

Zane GrimesCumberland Valley got nearly an identical pitching performance in game two as senior righty Zane Grimes, a Lock Haven commit, went the distance allowing three hits and one earned run while punching out 11 Mifflin County hitters.

The Eagles scored in every inning but the first compiling 15 hits, six of which were of the extra-base variety. Jayson Kramer fueled the offense from his lead-off spot in the order going 2-for-2 with three walks, two runs scored and two triples. Drew Baughman, Connor Madison and Grimes had three hits a piece.

Cumberland Valley moves to 8-1 on the season with the doubleheader sweep.
