Highly Ranked Outfielders Prepared for Preseason All-State Showcase

Cole CreightonWith the Preseason All-State Showcase less than two weeks away, we have begun looking at some of the top prospects who will be in attendance. Today we will look at some of the top outfielders who will be vying for top outfielder honors when the event takes place on February 23 at B2B Baseball Academy in Manheim, Pennsylvania. Class of 2014:

Cole Creighton, Neshaminy HS
Creighton is a 2014 OF/LHP with a 5-foot-10, 180-pound frame. He has a short stroke with good gap power. He runs a 7.1 - 60 yard dash and tops out at 83 from the mound. Creighton is currently ranked No. 16 in the PA Class of 2014 and No. 106 in the PBR combined rankings.

Mitchell Machi, North Allegheny HS
Machi is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound RHP/OF who shined as a two-way threat at the Pennsylvania Top Prospect Classic in August. He showcased the top outfield arm at the event at 85 mph and topped at 86 mph from the mound. Machi is currently ranked No. 20 in the PA Class of 2014 and No. 135 in the PBR combined rankings.

Jake Rosenberg, Harriton HS
Rosenberg is a talented multi-position player who was named 1st Team All-Central League and All-Main Line League, as well as 2nd Team All-State in 2012. The 6-foot, 185-pound OF/3B was selected to participate in the Power Showcase Babe Ruth Classic and Home Run Derby at Marlins Park in Miami this past December. Rosenberg is currently ranked No. 41 in the PA Class of 2014.

Shane Connahan, Midd-West HS
Connahan is a 6-foot, 175-pound OF who has an 84 mph arm from his position. The left-handed hitter, who played for Team Pennsylvania at last summer's Midwest Future Games, showcased an 83 mph bat exit speed at a recent event. Connahan has a level swing plane allowing him to stay in the hitting zone for a long period of time. He is currently ranked No. 62 in the PA Class of 2014.

Jeremy Hileman, Red Land HS
Hileman is a 6-foot-2, 165-pound RHP/OF from Red Land HS who runs a 7.10 60-yard dash and throws 86 mph from the outfield. He has projectable size and is very athletic. Hileman is currently ranked No. 63 in the PA Class of 2014.

Cody Bain, Blackhawk HS
Bain is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound OF/SS who has demonstrated solid outfield skills and good arm strength. The right handed hitter was selected to play for Team Pennsylvania at the 2012 Midwest Future Games. Bain is currently ranked No. 73 in the PA Class of 2014.

Class of 2015:

Gabe Witmer, Twin Valley HS
Witmer is a 5-foot-8, 145-pound OF/RHP who ran a solid 7.22 60-yard dash and showed a strong outfield arm at 80 mph this summer. He went 3-for-7 at the plate with a double at the PA Underclass Games in September. WItmer is currently ranked No. 33 in the PA Class of 2015.

Class of 2016:

Braxton Giavedoni, Punxsutawney HS
Giavedoni is a 5-foot-9, 165-pound OF from Punxsutawney HS who was named to the WWBA 14U Nationals All-Tournament Team in 2012. Giavedoni showed athletic actions in the outfield and a good arm at 77 mph at a recent event. He has solidified a spot in the Class of 2016 rankings that will be released later this spring.
