PBR's 2013 Independent Schools Player of the Year is Malvern Prep's Joe Poduslenko, who spearheaded the Friars' run to their third straight Inter-Ac regular-season title. The Seton Hall-bound infielder hit .374 with 51 runs scored, 17 extra-base hits, 37 runs batted in, and 23 stolen bases in 34 games.

What makes Poduslenko's season even more impressive is that he spent most of the spring recovering from a pre-season illness that sapped him of thirty pounds and significant strength.

During Poduslenko's four-year varsity career, Malvern racked up a 94-15 record against in-state competition, including a 35-5 mark in the Inter-Ac and the 2012 PAISAA championship.
