Prep Baseball Report

On Deck Preview: Preseason All State-South Central

Andrew Kowalo
Director of Baseball

From now until mid February we will be highlighting players that will be back in front of our eyes this preseason. Today we take a look at:

PRESEASON ALL-STATE - SOUTH Central

Wesley Parker 1B / RHP / Peters Township, PA / 2022

What to expect:
Wesley is a big strong kid with a lot of potential to be a big time power bat in college. He has the size and strength to play at a high level and look for him to continue to improve all around. We hope to see his exit velocity climb into 100 mph club and potentially be in the mid 80’s on the mound. With those stats jumping, look for Wesley to grab the attention of coaches everywhere.

What we'd like to see: With such a project-able frame the next step for Wesley is to improve on his consistency at the plate. The power is clearly there, but to compete at the next level consistent hitter crack the lineup. This will come over time and repetition.

Jonah Snowberger LHP / 1B / Central Martinsburg, PA / 2022

What to expect:
Jonah's frame and arm action really projects to be an effective arm at the next level. Though his velocity has not been eye-catching yet, we believe he will make a jump in velocity in the 2021 Pre Season and grab the attention of people in the region. His whip-like arm action and feel for his pitches on the mound creates havoc for hitters. There is some strength in his body where he displayed a 90 MPH exit velocity at the plate. That explosiveness will correlate on to the mound over time.

What we'd like to see: With the frame and clean arm action from Jonah, the next step would be to see a velocity jump on the mound. Really excited to see where he will be, being we have not seen him since June of 2020 at the PA State Games.

Brandin Anderson RHP / 1B / DuBois Central Catholic , PA / 2022

What to expect:
Not only does Brandin have strength on the mound, he displayed some power at the plate during the Pa State Games in June. With a 93 MPH exit velocity, he was able to deposit some balls over the fence in Bp. His rotational explosiveness will play on both the mound and plate. We really liked his athleticism and intent to be a powerful ball player. Look for another jump in both pitching and exit velocity here in February.

What we'd like to see: We love the athleticism that Brandin brings to the table, there is just a bit of refinement that could take place in his game. Smoothing out some of his actions will allow for him to be more efficient over time. There is no doubt the ability is there, we just look for him to take the next step and continue to grow his game all around.
