On Deck Preview: Preseason All-State - NE / Central

Ground Forces

As we are nearing the end Preseason All-State tour, we highlight some returning players that we are excited to see the results from an off season of training.

 2020 Preseason All-State - NE / Central

Sean Brennan RHP / SS / North Penn, PA / 2021

6-foot, 175-pound righty sat 80-81 while topping at 82 mph from a 3/4 arm slot and a short takeaway. Showed above average command of three pitches and some funk to his delivery that adds deception. Curveball at 68-71 showed tight 11/5 rotation and changeup at 70-75 flashed consistent arm-side run.

Brayden D'Amico SS / 2B / Liberty, PA / 2021

5-foot-10, 150-pound switch-hitter showcased similar swings from both sides of the plate with slightly more pop from the left side. He starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a leg-hang stride. A line drive approach from both sides of the plate with feel was evident. Registered a bat exit velocity of 80 mph and ran a 7.16 60-yard dash. Sound defender with solid feet and range. Showcased accurate 81 mph arm strength across the diamond.

Maddix Dalena 1B / 3B / Montoursville , PA / 2022

6-foot-3, 220-pound left-handed hitter took one of the more impressive rounds of batting practice over the two days of the event, showcasing present power to the pull side and the ability to stay in the zone for long periods of time. He starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a leg-hang stride to begin his swing. Showed rhythm and balance with a solid feel for the barrel. Registered a 91 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.86 60-yard dash. Displayed capable feet and glove work around the bag at first base with accurate 76 mph arm strength across the diamond. Definite power bat to follow in this class.

Marcus Danchision RHP / SS / MMI Prep, PA / 2021

6-foot-2, 170-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a short, lift-and-replace stride to begin. Showcased a feel for the barrel with a line drive approach. Registered a bat exit velocity of 89 mph and ran a 6.83 60-yard dash. Displayed capable defensive actions at shortstop with 80 mph arm strength across the diamond. Physical frame still has room for added strength and a move to third base or to the outfield to utilize his foot speed would not be surprising. The righty sat 81-83 from a high 3/4 arm slot while leading with a low elbow. Arm action is short and quick. Curveball sat 73-75 with short, 11/5 break and changeup was thrown with good sell at 72-73.

Sean Matson SS / RHP / Unionville, PA / 2021

6-foot-1, 195-pound switch hitter starts from and open right-handed stance and initiates his swing with a leg hang stride. An lengthy stride ends routinely in full extension with some present gap pop. Left handed swing is similar with more lift. Registered a bat exit velocity of 88 mph and ran a 7.39 60-yard dash. Showcased athletic actions defensively with solid carry on throws of 84 mph across the diamond. Current physical frame with room to add additional strength may lead to a move to third base. The righty sat 84-85 off the mound from an over the top arm slot. Curveball showed sweeping 11/5 break at 62-64 and slider displayed later, shorter break at 70-71. Changeup is thrown at near fastball arm speed with arm-side run at 66-69. Definite follow in this class with legitimate two-way abilities.
