PA State Games Spotlight: 2023 RHP Mason Horwat (Avonworth, HS)

Over the course of the next few weeks I will be taking a closer look at several standouts from the 2022 PA State Games this past June. The PA State Games serves as the biggest and most recruited event in Pennsylvania every year hosting over 500 next-level players in one location.

The Penn State Commit is no stranger to the PBR system having attended five events over the last few years. The frame has  real projection standing 6-foot-1, 185-pounds from a lean build. Mechanically sound with tempo and the delivery repeats, has a clean arm-swing from a power arm-slot release. His FB peaked 90 mph this summer with 87-88 his holding range. The CB shows tight spin (2500 rmps) with 10/ 6 shape, producing under the barrel type of late action. His Change Up is a respectable offering in the upper 70s, low 80s', with arm-side fade. Bright future for the Avonworth rising senior.
