PBR Evaluation & Measurables Showcase: Breakout Performances

The PBR Evaluation & Measurables Showcase took place Satuday at the Keystone State Baseball Academy in Manheim, PA. A total of 45 prospects from across two states showcased their talents with prospects representing the classes of 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Breakout Performances

+ 2019 OF/RHP Nick Embleton (East Pennsboro) showcased 91 mph arm strength from the outfield, a 92 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 6.83 60-yard dash two weeks ago at the Underclass Preview. On Saturday, the 6-foot-2, 195-pound two-way prospect also flashed plenty to like on the mound topping at 87 mph while showing solid command of his 71 mph curveball and a feel for a 75 mph changeup.

+ 2020 SS/RHP Kamal Gray (Archbishop Carroll) flashed a developing skill set with raw athleticism in all that he does. The 5-foot-11, 165-pound two-way prospect was especially impressive on the mound where he sat 80-82 with significant cut action to his fastball with plenty more in the tank.

+  2019 right-handed hitting 1B Justin Resto (Cedar Cliff) - 92 mph bat exit velocity and 2020 left-handed hitting OF/1B Noah Wijnen-Riems (New Brighton) - 89 mph bat exit velocity, both showcased present power and the potential to be highly recruited hitters in their respective classes.

+ 2019 OF/RHP Brendan O'Donnell (Great Valley) put up the most impressive across the board measurables of the day. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound two-way prospect ran a 7.13 60-yard dash, flashed 88 mph arm strength from the outfield, registered a 91 mph bat exit velocity and sat 83-85 off the bump.

+ 2018 C Cole Kiddy (Robert C. Byrd, WV) displayed present power in his right-handed swing. The 6-foot, 200-pounder showcased an 89 mph bat exit velocity and the ability to drive both gaps. The physical backstop also flashed pop times of 2.06-2.19 on throws of 74 mph from the crouch.

+ 2018 OF/RHP Tim Beimel (St. Mary's Area) did not step on the mound on this date, but will in two weeks time at the Preseason All-State Showcase. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitter displayed a sound, repeatable swing with a solid feel for the barrel with an 82 mph bat exit velocity. Beimel also showcased athletic actions in the outfield with 7.15 foot speed.
