Pennsylvania Class of 2019 Rankings Update

Greg Williams
Pennsylvania Director of Scouting

It’s been a busy four-plus months since the last update to the Class of 2020 rankings and as this group prepares for one final season of high school baseball we present the updated rankings for one of the final times.

This update includes the addition of 15 new prospects to the list bringing the total to 240 players with 170 having made their college decisions. The final total will likely reach 250 or more by the time this class graduates. Among the top 10 spots in this update, the ACC leads all conferences landing six Pennsylvania prospects.

With the changes to the NCAA recruiting process that now allows seniors to sign an NLI at any point after the early signing period a number of those still looking for the right college fit are likely to take advantage of the upcoming PBR schedule of events this winter to be seen one final time prior to this spring.

+ Virginia recruit, RHP Jack Kochanowicz (Harriton), continues to hold down the No. 1 spot in Pennsylvania and is also currently ranked No. 14 in the PBR overall rankings nationwide for the Class of 2019. The 6-foot-6, 200-pound righty has been up to 94 mph sitting comfortably in the 90-92 range.

+ LHP/1B Reggie Crawford (North Schuylkill), a Connecticut recruit, continues to climb the rankings moving to No. 6 in this update. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound lefty sits in the upper 80s while touching 92 mph and is also a state champion swimmer.

+ Making the biggest jump in this update is RHP David Platt (Palisades) who jumps from No. 38 to No. 16. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound righty was a member of the Team Pennsylvania roster at the 2017 PBR Future Games. Platt impressed recently at the PBR Mid-Atlantic ProCase sitting 92-93 with solid feel for his changeup.
