Player of the Week: 2016 SS Tommy Pellis

Tommy PellisNearing the midway point of the high school season Greensburg Central Catholic shortstop Tommy Pellis is putting together a season to be remembered. The 6-foot, 175-pound senior is a Penn signee and is showing every indication that he is ready for the move to the next level.

The Centurions are off to an 8-1 start and Pellis has been at the forefront of their success. His .786 average is eye popping but add in the four walks he has taken in addition to his 22 hits in 28 official at bats and Pellis has reached base at an alarming .813 clip.

Pellis leads the Centurions in nearly every offensive category but singles. Of his 22 hits only seven of been for one base. Pellis has eight doubles, five triples and two home runs for a slugging percentage of 1.643. The Centurions have scored 103 runs as a team and Pellis has had a direct part in 37% of them (20 runs scored, 18 RBI).
