A total of 34 outfielders showcased their abilities on Day One of the Preseason All-State Showcase. In Part One of our evaluations we will take a look at half of the group, with the remaining 17 prospects to be reviewed in Part Two.

Nick Amey, Emmaus HS, Class of 2017
Amey is a 5-foot-10, 155-pound prospect with a good deal of potential. The right-handed hitter has a quiet approach at the plate, hitting from a square stance with a high hands load. Amey made consistent hard contact during his round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 79 mph. The freshman registered a 4.35 home-to-1B time and showed athletic actions in the outfield with accurate throws of 78 mph to home plate.

Jordan Art, Lakeland HS, Class of 2017
Art is a 5-foot-11, 145-pound freshman that turned in a 4.41 home-to-1B time and showcased an accurate 71 mph arm from the outfield. Art shows his greatest promise at the plate. The right-handed hitter utilizes a square stance, no stride and a direct path to the baseball. He stayed inside the ball well during his round of batting practice, barreling most baseballs with a bat exit velocity of 73 mph.

Kenny Bergmann, Wiliam Penn Charter, Class of 2016
Bergmann was one of the most impressive prospects at the event. The 6-foot, 190-pound right-handed hitter squared pitch after pitch during his round of batting practice, driving the baseball with authority. His 91 mph bat exit velocity was among the tops at the event. Bergmann registered a 4.59 home-to-1B time and showcased a 91 mph arm from the outfield.

Luciano Besh, Franklin Regional HS, Class of 2016
Besh is a 5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed hitter that hits from a square stance with no stride. He displayed the ability to use all fields during his round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 84 mph. The sophomore has an athletic frame that appears to be still developing. He registered a 4.25 home-to-1B time and showcased fluid actions with good carry on throws of 84 mph from the outfield.

Ryan Bonfanti, Easton Area HS, Class of 2015
Bonfanti has an athletic 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame and showed good carry from the outfield on throws of 82 mph. The right-handed hitter had a solid round of batting practice in which he showed the ability to use all fields. Bonfanti hits from a slightly open, narrow stance and strides closed with good rhythm and balance. He barreled the baseball consistently and displayed a bat exit velocity of 84 mph.

Tyler Bonner, Avon Grove HS, Class of 2015
Bonner is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound junior with an athletic frame. He registered a 4.45 home-to-1B time and displayed solid carry on throws of 86 mph from the outfield. The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and creates an exit velocity of 83 mph with a solid lower half. Bonner barreled the baseball routinely in a solid round of batting practice.

Derek Cursio, Bishop Guilfoyle HS, Class of 2015
Cursio continues to show improvements in his game. The two-way prospect showcased his athleticism with fluid actions in the outfield and solid carry on throws of 85 mph. The 5-foot-8, 165-pound lefty registered a 4.31 home-to-1B time and showcased an 83 mph bat exit velocity. Cursio displayed a balanced, quiet approach at the plate with loose hands and the ability to use all fields.

Eric Dressler, Red Land HS, Class of 2015
Dressler took one of the top rounds of batting practice on the day. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound right-handed hitter showed extremely quick hands and the ability to drive the baseball to all fields with an 88 mph bat exit velocity. Dressler exhibited legitimate gap power potential and the baseball exploded off his bat head during the entire round. The junior registered a very solid 4.06 home-to-1B time and displayed an 80 mph arm from the outfield.

Quinn Fulton, Cumberland Valley HS, Class of 2015
Fulton turned in a 4.34 home-to-1B time and showed an accurate 83 mph arm from the outfield. The right-handed hitter starts from a square narrow stance and has some barrel wrap in the load phase of his swing. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound junior barreled the baseball routinely with a bat exit velocity of 83 mph. If he were to widen his base Fulton would be able to utilize his physical frame to develop some additional power.

Zak Gagnon, Freedom Area HS, Class of 2015
Gagnon registered a 4.18 home-to-1B time and showed a strong 88 mph arm from the outfield. The right-handed hitter displayed the ability to barrel the baseball frequently during his round of batting practice from a slightly open stance. Gagnon uses a high hands load with a lift and replace stride foot to create barrel whip in his swing and a bat exit velocity of 85 mph.

Braxton Giavedoni, Punxsutawney HS, Class of 2016
As a right-handed hitter, Giavedoni registered a blistering 3.94 home-to-1B time. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound sophomore is solidly built and moves effortlessly in the outfield. He displayed solid carry on throws of 83 mph to home plate. Giavedoni hits from a square stance and has extremely quick hands. He takes a direct path to the baseball and showed gap power potential with a bat exit velocity of 82 mph.

Dillon Horgan, Ellwood City HS, Class of 2015
Horgan is a long strider (4.01 home-to-1B) that showed athleticism and a strong 86 mph arm in the outfield. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound junior has room to still add to his frame. Horgan has a bit of a wrap in the load phase of his right-handed swing, but still generates good barrel whip. He showed the ability to use all fields with an 80 mph bat exit velocity.

Frankie Jezioro, Peters Township HS, Class of 2015
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound switch-hitting junior impressed with his athleticism and potential over the course of the two day event. Jezioro demonstrated an impressive 95 mph bat exit velocity and legitimate pop from both sides of the plate. His swing is a bit longer from the left side, but is sound enough for him to continue hitting as a true switch-hitter. Jezioro has plus foot speed (3.80 home-to-1B from the left side) and showcased a solid 83 mph arm from the outfield. 

Scott Kuczala, Wyomissing Area HS, Class of 2015
Kuczala is a 5-foot-11, 170-pound prospect that has put on 15 pounds of good weight in the past year. He moves well (4.08 home-to-1B) and showed an accurate 81 mph arm from the outfield. Kuczala hits from a square stance with a short path to the baseball. He displayed the ability to routinely square the baseball while using all fields. Kuczala showcased an 84 mph bat exit velocity and some gap power potential.

Tristan Lucas, University HS (WV), Class of 2015
Lucas is a 6-foot, 165-pound right-handed hitter that displayed improved mechanics at the plate. The junior barreled the baseball routinely during his round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 84 mph. Lucas showcased his athletic potential with a 3.97 home-to-1B time from the right side of the plate and displayed fluid actions in the field. He also displayed a fluid transfer and an accurate arm on throws of 80 mph to home plate.

Ryan Malloy, Holy Ghost Prep, Class of 2015
Malloy is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound junior with a broad shouldered, physical frame. He registered a 4.06 home-to-1B time and showed good carry on throws of 84 mph from the outfield. Malloy has a very aggressive approach at the plate, creating excellent barrel whip from a square stance. He showcased a bat exit velocity of 94 mph and the ability to drive the baseball routinely to all fields.

Tommy Marrollo, Downingtown East HS, Class of 2015
Marrollo is a 5-foot-9, 165-pound prospect with a high-energy approach to the game. The junior showcased fluid actions defensively with an accurate 84 mph arm to home plate. Marrollo used a square stance with no stride and a short swing path to create a bat exit velocity of 83 mph. He barreled the baseball consistently in his round of batting practice and showcased his foot speed with a 4.01 home-to-1B time.
