PBR Notes: 2/15/15 Schwartz's 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame belies his youth. At the plate, the right-handed hitter employs a lift-and-replace stride and flashes quality bat speed (88-mph exit velo), especially for his age. While he would benefit defensively from fielding the ball out away from his body, he showed good feet and an 82-mph arm across the diamond. Schwartz also ran a 6.97 60-yard dash.

Schwartz has the makings of being a highly coveted power arm in this class. The righty sat 79-83 with some hip coil action to his delivery out of a high 3/4 arm slot. The freshman gets a lot out of his lower half and his frame projects for velocity spikes in the coming years. Schwartz also displayed a 69 mph changeup at similar arm speed that lacks movement at this stage of his development. The pitch that will require significant improvement is Schwartz' curveball. The young right hander slows his arm speed and casts the pitch at 64 mph.
