Preseason Spotlight: 2B/SS Jake Nevin

Jake Nevin is a 5-foot-9, 150-pound 2B/SS from Council Rock South HS who was impressive in all facets of the game and easily one of the top position players at the Eastern PA Open ID Showcase in January. He showcased athletic actions and good range in the infield. The junior middle infielder showed good carry on throws of 76 mph across the diamond. Offensively, Nevin had one of the top rounds of batting practice at the event. He showed good rhythm throughout his swing, staying inside the baseball and hitting the ball to all fields. He squared the baseball consistently and displayed some gap power potential. Nevin is currently ranked No. 82 in the PA Class of 2014.
