Throughout the spring, we will be comparing some of the improvements made from the biggest winners of the preseason. One of our favorite annual events, ID: Central took place on 2/11 this year in Williamsport, PA, where almost 70 players joined us for a traditional showcase. Among the standouts, '24 OF/LHP Josh Domaracki (Selinsgrove) impressed with loose, projectable movements that translated into a useful two-way skillset.

Josh Domaracki OF / LHP / Selinsgrove, PA / 2024Rankings StateRank: 95 / POS: 19
Previous Look Notes: 2/19/22, Preseason All-State Central. Wiry, slender build at 5-foot-11, 155-pounds generates line-drive contact through a mostly handsy approach. Taller posture from the LH box that flashed an A/AVG feel for the barrel (73% sweet spot). Recorded a T80MPH EV, up to an estimated 295FT with more in the tank. The OF showed off his tracking skills and unloaded a live 88MPH throwing arm out of a H 3/4 slot. Did not undergo a bullpen on this date, but stacked some high school innings (13IP/2R). Recent Improvements: 2/11/23, Preseason ID: Central. A full year later, Domaracki added 10lbs of lean muscle, which has pushed measurables to new highs across the board. The athletic LHH worked inside the ball for a middle of the field approach, much stronger to the point of attack. Saw a personal best exit velo climb to T90MPH, +10MPH over 358 days. Other gains included distance (322FT), AVG EV (83MPH), fly ball rate (57%), and bat-speed (69MPH). For an encore, the southpaw pitched at 82-84MPH from a full range-of-motion, creating deception. Landed CB/SL mix at 68-70 and 72-74MPH on slightly different planes with a hard-faded mid-70's CH. Was also the top positional arm of the event: 91MPH. Projection: When looking at the overall ability and in-game success, it's easy to see Domaracki getting a chance on the mound at the next level. The frame still hasn't reached its peak and the arm-talent suggests better stuff is coming. This spring, he's accumulated 17+IP, 25K against 2BB and 4ER. Pounds the zone while manipulating angle. Not a slouch with the bat either; .375 AVG, 21H (2nd), and 10SB (1st). |
