CEVETTE'S TAKE: Dalena has the body-build of a Penn State linebacker (not the same footspeed but is a standout QB for Montoursville Football) standing 6-foot-3, 225-pounds with strength throughout his frame. Watching him take BP during the Pennsylvania State Games this past June was impressive - to say the least. The setup is slightly open with loose hands, attacks the baseball out in front of the plate using a short barrel path that stays in the hitting zone a long time. Natural sweet-swinging lefty with real power to his pull-side (99 mph exit velo during BP via Trackman - average 92.35 MPH). During game-play, Dalena showed several times why his bat is a real threat to his opposition. Loud, hard-hit baseballs are normal results for the burley left-hand hitter. The barrel consistency combined with the raw power gives me plenty of confidence in his bat playing well at the next-level.
