Busy Summer for RHP Colton Hock

Colton Hock, ranked No. 5 in the Class of 2014, may need a calculator to add up the miles he has traveled this summer in the pursuit of his baseball dreams. He has been up and down the east coast while mixing in trips to Minnesota and California for good measure. The 6-foot-4, 195-pound RHP from Bloomsburg HS has made unofficial trips to North Carolina, Duke, USC, Stanford and Pepperdine.

Hock, who has been clocked as high as 89mph this summer, was one of only two Class of 2014 players selected to play for the Yankees Area Code Games team in California this August. With Hock's size and work ethic it shouldn't be long before he begins posting readings in the 90's.

According to Hock, "The three big things I look for when visiting a school are how well the coaches and I establish a relationship while I am there, if I will be able to receive a great education while also having the best chance at going to Omaha, and how well a degree from that school will translate to success in the business world when baseball is over."

Hock has just begun to narrow down his college possibilities. For now, it looks like a who's who list of Division I baseball powers.
