Rookie Review: '25 RHP Charlie Belli (Harriton)

As we make our way through the spring and into the summer months, our staff will be rolling out a series of in-depth pieces on uncommitted talent across the keystone state.
We hosted (55) players on February 24 for the annual Uncommon Baseball scout day, where newcomer '25 RHP Charlie Belli impressed our staff with big separation down the mound and a tough angle from an A/AVG frame.

What We Liked: A calm, repeatable delivery accelerated late into footstrike, allowing the ball to jump out of his hand at 6-foot-1, 180lbs. Stronger legs blocked off properly, which created some tunnel across a three-pitch mix. Grabbed T20 inches of IVB from a 5.5FT release height, working up to 86MPH with quality extension on a sweeping 69-70MPH CB; T16 inches HM. Killed developing CH at 72-74MPH; 1407rpms presenting him with another weapon, landed for strikes (67% zone). There's some additional velocity to unlock, though the FB currently collects swing/miss. What to Improve: Taking what he already does well (short-window violence) and giving him a chance to "move faster" from the start should keep things loose throughout and produce more strike-throwing chances. Did pull towards the glove-side occasionally, but that's what makes the CB/CH separate so well. Will have to figure out a way to pitch out of the stretch in-game with lots of moving parts, but the upside remains high! Spring Update: Had a quality first two outings with a hot start out of the gate, pitching to 7IP, H, 2BB, 7K. Though the record doesn't quite reflect success, we've seen flashes of the ability to be a starter at the next level. Much more to come as he continues figuring out the body and arsenal.
