Jake Kleindl is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound C/1B from Shady Side Academy with projectable size and athleticism. He showcased a top pop time of 2.05 and a velocity of 77mph to second base at the Western PA Top Prospect Showcase in August. Following solid work as a catcher, Kleindl moved to first base where he showcased soft hands, good footwork and a solid arm (79mph). Offensively Kleindl used a solid base to generate good pop as he squared baseballs consistently to both gaps.

Kleindl also participated in the PA Underlcass games where he displayed an 88mph bat exit velocity. He impressed during the event when he doubled to the left field wall on a pitch that shattered his wood bat. With his ability to affect the game offensively, and the athleticism to move from behind the plate to a corner infield position, Kleindl projects as a multi-position player at the next level.
