Scouting Report

- 2017 PBR Super 60 Pro Showcase

- 2017 East Coast Pro Showcase

7/12/17 - 6-foot-2, 195-pound athletic body frame. The Oklahoma State commit is ranked No. 12 overall in Pennsylvania’s class of ‘18. Athletic, toolsy catching prospect who ran a 7.0 60-yard dash. Defensively offers a quick release with good arm strength and footwork on his throws to second base. Right-handed hitter with an easy swing and strength. Starts his swing from a tall, slightly open stance and strides back to being even. Hands stay quiet and get to a strong launch position. Displayed his strength when he hit a homerun to deep left center field and another one over the left field fence during his round of batting practice. He also ripped a single to left field during gameplay.

6/15/16 6-foot-2, 190-pound right-handed hitter missed the first day of the event because he was on a recruiting visit but certainly impressed on day two. Spiegel began his day running an impressive 6.71 60-yard dash and followed that up by flashing advanced arm strength during defensive evaluations. The underclassman showcased pop times of 1.88-2.00 on throws of 74 mph from the crouch with solid footwork, a clean transition and very quick release. Spiegel also displayed big power potential in a 1-for-3 performance at the plate in game action. While he was tied up on a pop-up in his first at bat, Spiegel followed up with a deep fly ball for an out to center field in his next at bat and a ringing double to the left-center field fence in his final at bat.

5/31/16 6-foot-2, 190-pound good athletic catcher's body frame. Defensively, he has D-1 tools with his quick catch to release transfer, and strong arm strength that are advanced for his age. Showed top pop time of 2.02 between innings. Solid swing mechanics. Right-handed hitter starts open and gets squared back up to even before he swings. Uses fluid hands back to shoulder trigger for a load. Walked and singled to left field in two plate appearances we viewed on this date.
