The Hotlist: Top 2016 Position Players Attending The Future Games

By Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

The 2014 Prep Baseball Report Future Games are just around the corner, set to take place July 30-August 2 at Grand Park in Westfield, IN. The event puts uncommitted juniors—and a few sophomores—in front of dozens of college coaches. This year’s Future Games will have a workout day with the 60-yard dash, batting practice and defense, followed by two days of games.

Even though the recruiting game has sped up and many rising juniors are already committed, there will be plenty of available talent to be seen. This week’s Hotlist highlights the top 2016 position players that will be in attendance.

Drew Blakely, C, Gull Lake, MI
Blakely is physically strong at 6-foot-2, 175 pounds and sits low in his setup behind the plate with soft hands. At the plate, he shows good balance and an athletic stance. He runs well for a catcher with a 6.92-second 60. His bat explodes through the zone after he uses a smooth, easy load. He is able to use the whole field and go the other way on occasion, but he does tend to favor his pull side.
