Scouting Report

8/02/20

Physical: Durable / strong 6-foot-1, 195-pound frame with advanced feel for the lower half. 7.18 runner in the 60-yard dash. Offensively: RHH. If there was an award for offensive breakout performance at the Future Games, Nik Rubendall would be the recipient. Started with a wide, slightly open stance showing a minor bend in the knees as the hands began at the shoulder in the setup. Utilized a leg-hang stride to initiate an efficient, slightly uphill barrel path through the hitting zone while hitting into a stiff front side. Let the hands get deep through extension creating loud contact at the front of the plate during batting practice / mostly a pull-side approach playing pepper with the LCF/LF wall. Recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 94 mph per Trackman Baseball using the most of his uber physical lower half to generate high level ground power in the box. Added in a long batted ball distance of 343 feet. When the lights turned on, the RHH shined featuring a no doubter home run to LCF against Team Select and a multitude of extra base hits. Led the team in base knocks with 5 total and extra bases over the event, should profile as a quality middle of the order bat that continues to raise his ceiling as he becomes more mature at the plate. Defensively: The primary outfielder showed active footwork that arrived on time to the spot with regularity, got downhill through the fielding window approaching the ball off of his left side with a soft glove hand at the catch point. Feel for catch and throw skills with a quick release and accurate, high ¾ arm-slot with a moderate takeaway. Should slot in as an everyday LF at the collegiate level. OF - 80 mph
