Updated PAISAA Fab Four (4-20-15)

By Jacob Gill
Philadelphia Region Director of Scouting

One month into a precipitation-filled spring, we are releasing our first in-season update to the PAISAA Fab Four (i.e. the four teams we believe would reach the PAISAA semifinals, if the tournament started today). No team has truly separated itself from the pack, while some early-season favorites have seen their offenses stub their collective toes.

Record Notes
1 Springside Chestnut Hill (NR) 10-5 The Blue Devils are the only team still unbeaten in Inter-Ac play, with wins over The Haverford School, Episcopal Academy & Penn Charter, as well as non-league triumphs over Perkiomen School & The Hill School.
4 Malvern Prep (1) 13-5 The defending champs have struggled to find their usual consistency, but have ripped off wins in six of their last nine contests, including four in a row. The Friars sit one game back of SCHA in the Inter-Ac.

3 The Haverford School(NR) 13-2 Non-league victory over La Salle is the Fords lone signature win, but they are finding ways to get the job done in low- and high-scoring contests. One game behind SCHA in the Inter-Ac.
2 Perkiomen School (3) 6-1 Schedule strength lags behind the Inter-Ac schools, but the Panthers are a talented team and have dominated in their wins (combined score 90-1). Fell to SCHA in extra innings (after holding a seventh inning lead).

Dropped out
#2 Penn Charter (8-6) - Lost three in a row & five of last six. Pitching staff still in flux; offense not clicking.
#4 Germantown Academy (6-7) - Have been held to two runs or less in nearly half of their games.

Other Contenders
Penn Charter, Episcopal Academy, Mercersburg Academy, The Hill School, Germantown Academy
