Debo, Wilson Show North Carolina’s 2016 Potential - 4/23/15

Less than 30 minutes from my house are two of North Carolina’s top prospects in the 2016 class—C Brad Debo and RHP Bryse Wilson of Orange HS. Committed to South Carolina and North Carolina respectively, the two make up an obviously strong battery for the Panthers. I saw both as sophomores last year and finally got out to see how they’ve progressed since then.

Davila Cruises, Even Without Best Stuff - 4/14/15

Two arms have caught scouts’ attention in North Carolina this spring and I was lucky enough to catch them on back-to-back days this week. Below this entry is info on RHP Jackson Kowar (Charlotte Christian School, NC). After seeing the Clemson recruit, I headed just a little west to South Point HS to see LHP Garrett Davila (South Point HS, NC), a Tennessee recruit. I wasn’t the only one as there was a fair amount of heat into see him. A few crosscheckers and a special assignment scout made the trip on top of the handful of area scouts.

Kowar Gives Scouts Something To Look At - 4/13/15

North Carolina’s high school draft class doesn’t have the strength of past years, but RHP Jackson Kowar (Charlotte Christian School, NC) has created some buzz this spring. A Clemson recruit, Kowar has a skinny frame with long limbs at 6-foot-4, 170 pounds. A few weeks ago, with the National High School Invitational happening in Cary, NC, many of the crosscheckers and scouting directors made the two-hour trek to Charlotte to see Kowar pitch. He didn’t disappoint, reportedly sitting in the low 90s and showing flashes of good secondary stuff.
