From August 4th through August 6th, PBR New England took a select team of players  in the Classes of 2018 and 2019 to represent Massachusetts at the PBR Future Games in Westfield Indiana at Grand Park.

Players received exposure unlike any other event for underclassmen. Last year, 100+ colleges from all over the country were in attendance, including coaches from every Division I power conference in the country. Only players who have a legitimate shot at being a Division I recruit and who have an interest in the possibility of making a verbal commitment during their sophomore or junior seasons have been considered.

2016 Team Massachusetts Future Game Spotlight: Game Recaps

Team Massachusetts

The morning started off with a good game vs Team NY/NJ. Mike Doherty, 2018 graduate from Middlesex showed well in game 1. Pitching out of a ¾ slot with good arm-side action to his fastball, topping out at 88 mph. The spin pitch is a bit too wide but has the makings of being a legit pitch, he spun it at 76-77 mph. Showed a good changeup at 75-76 mph. Showed good command in the game and the ability to handle the running game.
