2016 Two-Way Players Perform Well In Jupiter

By Justin Burgess

This past weekend’s event down in Jupiter was, like always, the most scouted amateur event of the year. Hundreds of college coaches and professional scouts flocked to the Marlins and Cardinals spring training complex to watch many of the best players from around the country.

Some players helped themselves, some performed as expected and some did not bring their best game and likely dropped on some draft boards. Here are a few two-way players who showed well this weekend and likely helped themselves:

Andrew Baker, LHP/OF, Ridge Community HS, FL
Baker is a 2016 Florida commit who stands at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds with a lean and athletic body with strength. He had arguably the best pitching performance of the tournament as he shut down a talented Reds Scout Team by throwing a complete game one-hitter with 15 strikeouts.
