2018 Future Game Trials - Quick Hits

Chris Kemlo
PBR Ontario Director of Scouting

We would like to thank all who participated in PBR Ontario's 2018 Future Game Trials this past week. This was a great opportunity for 2020-2022 prospects to be identified before season, create and update their profiles, as well see where they stack up with their peers. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase.

In the coming weeks, we will be adding and updating profiles for each of the players in attendance, including complete analysis and video.

THE ARMS

Benjamin Adams LHP / OF / Longfields-Davidson Heights, ON / 2020

Report: At 6-foot-1, 170-pounds, Adams impressed in his bullpen as the lefty sat 84 for the majority of his pen, topping out at 86 mph with an easy and quick arm out front from a clean ¾ slot. The delivery is slow and controlled and the ball jumps out his hand after separation. The curveball showed spin with gradual break at 70-72 mph while the changeup repeats from his fastball slot with some cut action at times in the 74-76 range. There is more strength to add with his broad shoulders and lean frame with some present strength which should allow to continue to make strides and continue to develop. Adams looks to be one of the top 2020 prospects in the country and is trending upwards in the 2020 Ontario Rankings.
