2018 FUTURE GAMES - DAY 4 RECAP

For the first time since the inception of the Future Games, the Canadians went undefeated.

After two come-from-behind wins over Michigan and Ohio, Team Canada Futures took an early 3-0 lead in the first versus Pennsylvania, and piled it on from there to cruise to an 8-3 victory.

2020 right-hander Levi Abbott got the win for Team Canada, going two scoreless innings. He was relieved by 2020 right-hander Evan Soules, and 2020 left-hander Ben Adams, who made his second outing in as many days.

The offense was paced by 2020 outfielder Zach Laurie, who added two more knocks to an already-impressive week. Standout 2021 Owen Caissie also added an RBI single to his name, while 2020 shortstop Bryce Arnold capped off a solid week with an RBI double to left.

Below we go more in depth with some of the standout performances of the day:

Recap: It’s safe to say that 2020 outfielder Zach Laurie was the MVP of the Canadian squad this week. In the 8-3 drubbing over Pennsylvania, Laurie added two more hits and three stolen bases to his name. The heavy-hitting left-hander crushed pitching all week, notching four hits, and seven stolen bases, while remarkably failing to strike out a single time.
