We would like to thank all who participated in PBR Ohio's 2019 Scout Day Dayton Thunderbirds. This was a great opportunity for the class of 2019-2022 prospects to be put on college radars. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase. Below we have the complete statistical results from the event as well as the top performers across various different categories.

2019 Scout Day: Dayton Thunderbirds - Sneak Peek

Positional Prospects

Tyler Shaneyfelt OF / OF / Kettering Fairmont, OH / 2020

Body Type: 5-foot-5, 135-pound athletic frame.
Swing Mechanics:
Lefty swinger with an aggressive lower half and simple hands.
Hit: Doesn’t get cheated up there and has much more pop than frame would suggest. Connected with the barrel often in BP, showing the ability to turn on the baseball or spray it the other way.
Power:
75 mph exit velocity. Ball appeared to come off the bat a bit more than exit velocity would indicate. Majority of the swings ended in line drives but he showed some gap abilities. Very fast bat with some strength at contact.
Offensive Projection:
Top of the lineup with sneaky pop.
Run:
7.01 60-yard dash.
Field:
Looked the part in the outfield. Very fluid actions with obvious feel out there.
Throw:
85 mph from outfield. Arm is a huge tool out there. Ball jumps out of his hand with accuracy and carry.
Defensive Projection:
All Three Outfield Spots
Additional Comments:
Undersized but scouts need to look past that. A good player with feel at the plate, playable speed, and a big time arm.
