We would like to thank all who participated in PBR Ohio's 2019 Scout Day: IVL Baseball. This was a great opportunity for the class of 2019-2022 prospects to be put on college radars. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase.

2019 Scout Day: IVL Baseball - Sneak Peek

The Arms

Kyle Maruna SS / RHP / Medina, OH / 2020

Body Type: 6-foot-1, 155 pound lean, athletic build.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes:
Releases out of a lower ¾ arm slot displaying loose arm action. Lower half activated well as hips fire getting nice extension downhill and finishing with force.
Fastball: 83-87 mph. Pitch was electric with ball jumping out of his hand with smoothness. Sat 85-86 consistently and locates it very well.
Slider:
74-76 mph. Showed some sharp break that cuts from 10-4 and maintained it lower in the strike zone often.
Changeup:
63-68 mph. Displayed slight glove-side run with some depth. Threw for strikes but will improve movement as arm speed becomes more consistent prior to release.
Pitchability:
Showed a nice three-pitch mix of fastball, slider and changeup all with command. Brings great intent too behind each throw which will pay dividends as he continues to develop further. Projectable arm that will only improve. Will be seeing him pitch at the next level.
Role:
Starter.
