2019 Toronto Mets Scout Day - Sneak Peek at the Arms

Jesse Levine
PBR Ontario Scout

We would like to thank all who participated in PBR Ontario's Toronto Mets Scout Day. This was a great opportunity for 2019-2023 prospects to be identified before season, create and update their profiles, as well see where they stack up with their peers. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase.

In the coming weeks, we will be adding and updating profiles for each of the players in attendance, including complete analysis and video.

2019 Toronto Mets Scout Day - Sneak Peek

Virot Siharath RHP / Bill Crothers, ON / 2021

Report: Siharath, a 5-foot-11, 160-pound right-hander was the most impressive arm on Scout Day. It’s an athletic build, with a strong lower half, projectable frame with lots of room to add strength. He works drop and drive towards the plate, with impressive separation and drive off his lower half, allowing him to generate as much velocity as he does. He works from a high 3/4 slot, getting out front at release, finishing cleanly. He was 88-89 mph on this day with running action on his fastball, mixing in a curveball which showcased tight spin with depth and projects as a strikeout pitch at the next level. There is still polishing out to do, but plenty of time to make necessary adjustments and take huge strides this offseason. Siharath is one of the best arms in his class, and a must-watch for college coaches.
