VERO BEACH, FL--The Florida Preseason Classic continued Tuesday with games featuring Doral Academy vs. TNXL Academy and Spruce Creek vs. Westminster Christian Academy. Spruce Creek provided the highlight of the day, as the Hawks’ offense was full throttle from the start. They scored six runs in the first, largely behind a three-run double by 2022 OF Trent Godawa. Things got started when OF Corey Robinson, a Florida recruit who stole the show at this event in 2020, led off with a ringing double to left field that was 98 mph off the bat. He came home on a single by SS Dalton Hurst. The Florida International recruit finished the day with two hits and three runs scored. RHP Jarret Maresco, a St. Johns River State JC recruit, started for the Hawks and went three innings, allowing just one hit while striking out six.

In the earlier game, TNXL Academy battled back to claim a 6-2 win. Down 2-0 in the fourth, C Nicholas Deschamps pulled a home run to right field to get the Ducks on the board. They tied it on an RBI double by SS Dwayne Maduro. In the fifth, Deschamps stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and hit a hard sacrifice fly to right to break the tie.

RHP Nicholas Fraginals, a North Carolina State recruit, started for Doral Academy and flashed an intriguing arsenal. Coming from a low-3/4 slot, his fastball has good life, sitting in the high 80s with spin rates in the 2400-2600 rpm range. He spun a sweepy slider up to 2700, though it was sharp at times, and he also showed feel for a changeup with good run to it.
