2022 NPI: 17U Mid-Atlantic Notebook

The summer has kicked off at the nation’s top baseball venue for amateur athletes.  LakePoint is hosting the PBR National Program Invitational (NPI).  Thursday saw day 1 action across the 15U, 16U, and 17U events.  Pool play opens the event with an eventual champion named through bracket play.


Below we take a look at the action from day 1 with players and teams from Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.



Day 1 Notebook: 17U


Canes Scout Team dropped their opener at the NPI to the Midland Redskins 10-7.  Jack Gibson (2023, First Flight HS, NC), a UNC Wilmington commit, worked 3 innings, giving up to 2 runs and striking out 4.  The fastball was up to 84.  Chase Arrington (2023, North Raleigh Christian, NC) gave up 5 in his 2 innings of work with a fastball that peaked at 87.  Josh Mason (2023, West Carteret HS, NC) sat
