2025 Position Player Follows

Just weeks away from the start of the high school baseball season (in warm weather states), many freshmen are putting in the work needed to challenge for roles at the varsity level. Whether impacting the spring for high school teams or building on reps looking towards the summer, the 2025 class is ready to ball out. Below, a look at seven position players (some two-ways) to take note of as follows before getting out on the road this summer.

Lafeyette Luke Romine 1B / LHP / Hernando , MS / 2025

While Romine certainly has two-way potential thanks to a quick left arm that is already running fastballs up to 84 mph, his left-handed stick might ultimately be the calling card for college coaches. An athletic 6-foot, 185-pounder, Romine brings a relaxed approach to the plate which allows the hands to work freely through a fluid load with a short stride. There is present ability to lift the baseball with authority, as he works deeper into the lower-half in generating some torque with the quick hands driving the barrel slightly uphill through the zone. A 7.25 runner with exit velocities up near 90 mph, Romine’s athleticism should continue to provide for quick advancements in coming years, and given his present ability to produce in game, look for quick adjustments to also be made in propelling him to new heights.
